Statement of Faith

The Godhead

We believe in the Trinity. As explained in both the Old and New Testaments, our God is one and exists co-equally in three persons the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
God is the creator and sustainer of all things. He designed the intricate universe, He made man in His own image and after the fall, He called man back to Him through Christ, His son. God is eternal – He always has been and always will be. God is immutable – He does not change. God is holy; He is merciful; and He is love. God is a Heavenly Father to all who accept His plan of salvation.
Jesus is God and is the Son of God. He has existed with the Father and the Holy Spirit from the beginning. Born to the Virgin Mary and of the Holy Spirit, Jesus is both God and man. He left heaven and came to earth to atone the sins of mankind. Today Jesus is risen, exalted, and seated at the right hand of the Father. He is to be worshiped in spirit and truth. Jesus will return to this earth for His bride, the church made up of those who believe in Him, and for the final judgment of the world.
The Holy Spirit is God and the giver of life. He was active during the Old Testament and given to the church in fullness at Pentecost. He is sent from the Father by the Son to empower the church for service today, the same as he empowered the first church. He is fully released in our lives by the baptism of the Holy Spirit which happens after salvation.

SCRIPTURES

The Bible is God’s truth written by men who were directed by the Holy Spirit; the words they wrote were not from their own understanding. Scripture is the inspired Word of God. His infallible Word provides men a tool to gauge right and wrong. The Bible is the source for instruction and correction. It has complete authority and final say in all things. God’s Word is reliable, true and eternal.

Mankind

Mankind, created by God, willfully sinned, and as a result, is lost and without hope apart from Jesus Christ. Outside of Jesus, every person who has ever lived has committed sin.  Because of our sinful nature, inherited from Adam, and the sins resulting from it; everyone will die physically and will then face eternal death if they have not accepted by faith Jesus Christ’s death on the cross for their sins. We are saved from guilt and certain punishment of his sins by grace and through faith.

Salvation

Salvation is a free gift of God to man. The death of Christ on the cross is the only sufficient payment for our sins. Every person has sinned, but every person also can be forgiven and saved by Christ. This salvation is available for any person who puts his or her trust in Christ as Savior. Those trusting Christ should ask Him for forgiveness of sin, believe in Him, confess their faith in Him, and be baptized. Salvation marks the beginning of a new life in Christ and should produce an active lifestyle of loving obedience and service to Christ our Savior.

Water Baptism

Baptism in water by immersion is a direct commandment of our Lord and is for believers only. Water baptism is an
outward sign of inward happenings. Jesus was baptized to establish an example for believers to follow. Those who have been born again by accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Savior should follow Him in baptism. Baptism does not wash away sin; it is purely a symbolic act, indicating that before entering the water, the one being baptized has been united by faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ—that he has died to sin and is embarking on a new way of life.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a gift from God as promised by Christ to all believers in the new covenant and is received by asking the Father for the gift of the Spirit after one has received salvation. This experience is accompanied by the evidence of the fruit of the Spirit, mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23, being seen in increasing measure in our lifestyle .

Divine Healing

We believe in God's total healing power manifested through the prayer of faith and by the laying on of hands for the body, mind and spirit. It is provided for in the atonement of Christ and is the privilege of every member of the Church today.

The Hope of the Resurrection

The final judgment will determine the eternal status of both believers and unbelievers, determined by their relationship to Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus is coming back. And when He comes, all those who serve Him will reign with Him until the final judgment.
